South Dakota Farm Bureau is an effective agriculture organization that serves its members by working to improve the personal, social, economic and political interests of South Dakota’s farm and ranch families.
Our Purpose
Farm Bureau is an independent, non-governmental, voluntary organization of farm and ranch families united for the purpose of analyzing their problems and formulating action to achieve education improvements, economic opportunity and social advancement and, thereby, to promote the national well being.
Farm Bureau is local, county, state, national, and international in its scope and influence and is non-sectarian and non-secret in character. Farm Bureau is the voice of agricultural producers at all levels.
Farm Bureau Beliefs
- An organization founded on a fundamental belief in God.
- A non governmental, independent, farm-family organization whose purpose is to represent farmers and ranchers.
- An organization owned and controlled by its farmer/rancher members.
- An organization dedicated to the private competitive enterprise system.
- An organization which deals in issues and ideas rather than personalities.
- An organization which prefers to devote its energies to the positive positions and to its own programs.
- An organization which recognizes the need for farmer cooperatives, commodity associations, agricultural agencies, and special agricultural groups.
